Percy "Pop" Cormier Sr., 94, of Jennings, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025.
Born with a bright spirit and a heart open to everyone he met, Pop lived his 94 years with joy, warmth, and a remarkable ability to make anyone feel like family. He truly never met a stranger. His presence brought laughter, comfort, and light to all who knew him, and he embraced each day to the fullest.
Pop proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, carrying that chapter of his life with honor, humility, and pride.
Pop is survived by his children: Percy (Susie) Cormier Jr., Ronald Cormier, Donald (Lou) Cormier, Edwin "Boo" (Liz) Cormier Sr., and Thomas "Tommy" Cormier Sr. He also leaves behind a loving family of 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom carry his joyful spirit forward.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Ethel Ardoin Cormier, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage filled with love, devotion, and family. He was also preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers, who welcomed him home with open arms.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Miguez Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until the time of service the same day. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. He will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
Pop's joyful heart, boundless kindness, and love for people will never be forgotten. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched along the way.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Lamm Family Care Home Health-Hospice and the staff of Jeff Davis Living Center for their compassionate and dedicated care of their beloved Pop.
