It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Calise "CJ" Joseph Myers, a beloved father, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on January 11, 1933, in Jennings, LA.
CJ was a proud veteran, having served in the Air Force from February 13, 1953, until his discharge on July 20, 1956. Following his service, he dedicated himself to working as a driller in the oil and gas industry, where he forged lasting bonds with colleagues and contributed to the community he loved deeply.
CJ is survived by his loving daughters Adrienne (Glen) Adams and Rebecca Myers; his sons Glenn (Wanda) Myers and Coy Myers; and cherished siblings: sister Hilda (Lee) Dietz, and brothers Clifford, Jerry (Pat), Mike (Darlene), and Hillary Myers. He was also a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren, a grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandfather to one little one. He will be missed beyond words.
CJ had a passion for life-we will remember him fondly for his green thumb and his love for working in the garden. He could often be found whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen or enjoying Western shows, cheering for the New Orleans Saints, or placing friendly bets on horse racing.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place on November 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Miguez Funeral Home in Jenning. Before the service, family and friends are welcome to pay their respects during a public viewing from 9:00 AM. Following the service, CJ will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.
CJ was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene "Jean" Myers, his parents, Hillias and Bertha Sensat Myers, son, Garry Myers, and her brothers, Lynn Myers, Lawrence Myers.
Pallbearers will be Coy Allen Myers, Dusty Myers, Grant Myers, Cameron Adams, Andrew Kibodeaux, and Brock Bonin.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Idleman, Brooklyn Idleman and Sonya Myers Ballard.
