Percy Richard Guitreau Sr., a native and life-long resident of French Settlement, LA, passed away peacefully in Denham Springs, LA at the age of 89 on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Percy was a retired electrician and worked most of his career out of IBEW Local Union 1516 in Arkansas. He loved the outdoors, riding on his tractor and golf cart, going to local auctions, and playing Bourre and other card games. Percy also enjoyed lunch dates with his family.

Percy survived by his children, Karla Burch (Randy), Karen Reeves, Dwayne Hodges, April Sibley (John); grandchildren, Kristin Burch, Damon Guitreau, Brian Guitreau, Timothy Reeves, Lane Sibley, Oliva Edwards, and Koltin Breaux; siblings, Rose Gonzales, Aileen Small, Kenneth Guitreau, Sr., as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

He is preceded in death by his children, Debbie Guitreau, Percy Richard Guitreau, Jr., Benjamin Guitreau; parents, William Sidney and Mary Lobell Guitreau; siblings, William Sidney Guitreau, Jr., Alvin Roland Guitreau, Sr, Gloria Millet, Johnny Guitreau, and Dudley Guitreau.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement from 9am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.

Randy Burch, John Sibley, Dwayne Hodges, Lane Sibley, Daniel Breaux, and Koltin Breaux will serve as pallbearers.
