Rev. Percy Ray Patrick, Pastor of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church was born on November 11, 1957, in Forest Mississippi to Lizzy Mae Patrick and JC Patrick. Pastor Patrick attended Banning High School where he met Beatrice Davis and graduated in 1976. He and Beatrice married in 1978 and had five children. Pastor Patrick went on to attend Mt. San Jacinto College, a series of seminary classes, obtained multiple certifications for religious studies, leadership, and chaplain services, all while working at highland springs resort where he climbed the latter in the kitchen for over 20 years. Pastor Patrick started as a dishwasher, then prep cook, line cook, sous chef, then ultimately became chef. He was very proud of his accomplishments in the kitchen and often used those skills as references when delivering the gospel. Pastor Patrick loved to have fun and joke with everyone. He could make friends at the grocery store or even the DMV. You couldn't help but have a smile on your face while around him. He had a way of making your worst day, the best day one could have. He was extremely loving, forgiving, generous, and would open his door to anyone in need. During his youth Pastor Patrick was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, however, later became a member of First Missionary while living with his sister Louise Anderson. However, in 1979 Percy and his wife Beatrice welcomed their first-born son who was born prematurely. Doctors said their son would not live through the night. BUT Percy had a conversation with God that night and he gave God a commitment that if he saved his son, he would dedicate his life to the ongoing of the Kingdom and submit to the calling that had been put on his life to preach the Gospel. Pastor Patrick returned as a member at Shiloh where he served under the direction of Pastor George Armstrong as an Usher. Then under the direction of Pastor Archie Hicks, Percy became ordained as a Deacon in 1983, also under the direction of Pastor Hicks, he became licensed then ordained with the Valley District Association as a Minister. Pastor Patick worked as a chaplain at San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital for 10 years, performed countless weddings, funerals, counseling sessions, communion to nursing homes as well as the sick and shut ins. He also was a part of the "Pastors on campus" program with Banning Unified School District. Pastor Patrick was a very simple man and felt the Shepard should never live above the means of the people. This being said, other than a Pepsi, Pastor Patrick would never accept payment, all donations for any service he provided for Gods people were given back to the church. Pastor Patrick Proudly served the Banning community and Shiloh Baptist until he succumbed to his illnesses on October 12, 2025. He was surrounded at home by his Wife, Children, and close family members until his call to glory. Pastor Patrick was survived by his Wife Beatrice Patrck, His Children Michael Patrick, Elizabeth Mahan, Jennifer Williams, Percy Patrick Jr., and Alisa Rae Patrick. Pastor Patrick helped raise nieces and nephews that he calls sons and daughters; Lilian Patrick, Daven Sanchez, Jessica Sanchez, Antwonette Itric, and Demetrius Patrick, just to name a few. Pastor Patrick also has 14 grandchildren and counting. He was also survived by siblings Shirley Patrick, Canary Patrick, and Henry Patrick. Patrick, Howard Gene Patrick and a host of other family members. Pastor Patrick was a staple in the Banning Community and touched the lives of many. He will truly be missed.
