Perfecto Igarta Delmendo

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Perfecto "Peck" Delmendo.
Perfecto "Peck" Igarta Delmendo passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on
May 29, 2025, in Fairfield, CA at the age of 83. Peck was born on April 18, 1942, to
Esperanza and Baltazar Delmendo in the town of Bacnotan, La Union province,
Philippines.
Peck is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ma Luisa "Malu", his three children,
Fernando (and wife, Nina), Perfecto "Joe" (and wife, Patty) and Marilu "Nette" (and
husband, Benjamin), and his eight grandchildren: Makena, Jonathan, Peyton, Christina,
Kahanu, Kekai, Reece, and Juliana. He is also survived by his brother, Niceto
Delmendo and predeceased by his parents Esperanza and Baltazar, and sisters Aurora
Sotto and Angelita Tordesillas.
After earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Mapúa Institute of Technology,
Peck worked for Meralco, the power company in Manila; however, the majority of his
career was with Bechtel in San Francisco. His time at Meralco and Bechtel brought him
lifelong friends, whom he cherished and embraced like family. He also traveled
throughout his career and even moved his family to work as an expat in Mexico City. At
the end of his assignment, he returned the family to Lafayette, California, where is
children completed high school and continued on to college and university. He and Malu
moved to Fairfield, California in 2000 to be close to their children's growing families.
Outside of work, he continued his passion for playing tennis and mahjong. Although his
competitive spirit brought many victories, he loved these hobbies because it brought
people together, especially his loved ones.
He was kind and generous and loved to joke around. Peck leaves behind a legacy of
love and he will live on in our hearts and memories shared with his family and friends.
He will be missed beyond words.
A funeral service will be held on June 11th at 11:00am
