Peris Njoki Mbuthia was born on January 30, 1994, and left this world on October 13, 2024, to join her Lord and Savior in eternity, leaving behind a profound legacy marked by love, dedication, and unwavering faith. From a young age, she demonstrated a vibrant spirit that touched everyone she met. A dedicated Microbiology Quality Control Technician by profession, she made meaningful contributions to the laboratory at Kimberly Clark, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to her field.

Peris was also known for her infectious enthusiasm and zest for life. A social butterfly, she was genuine, welcoming and kind, with an extraordinary ability to light up every room she entered. Her friends and family fondly remember her as the loudest cheerleader in the stands. Whether at events or cheering for her loved ones from the crowd, she was always there offering unwavering support in her charismatic and spirited manner.

She attended and graduated from Bryant High School before pursuing her bachelor’s degree at University of Central Arkansas in Conway, becoming a trailblazer as the first child in her family to be born and graduate college in the United States. Peris was the glue of her family, diligently ensuring they stayed connected, often initiating phone calls to bridge distances. She embodied the essence of love and community, inspiring those around her to strengthen their own ties. Her genuine care for others was evident, as she took the time to make each person feel known, heard, and deeply loved. Her faith was paramount; a strong Christian, she committed herself to loving and serving Jesus wholeheartedly. Peris inspired those around her to seek a greater relationship with God and was a devoted prayer warrior who was always ready to pray for others.

In addition to her professional and spiritual pursuits, Peris had a passion for the culinary arts, constantly experimenting with new recipes and was willing to try anything at least once. She also loved to travel, often expressing her adventurous spirit with the mantra, “catch flights, not feelings.” Those closest to her will also remember the playful imagination she possessed, which often led her to play light-hearted pranks on her loved ones, especially her sisters, and always in good fun.

Peris reunites with those who have preceded her in death and welcomed her with open arms: great aunt Margaret Mbuthia; great uncle Kimani Mbuthia; cousin Kevin Mwura; Nana Mary Kamunya, great aunt Lucy Karungu, great uncle Elijah Ndugu.

Left to cherish Peris’s memory in their hearts are: her parents, Elizabeth and Josephat; her sisters  Mary, Destiny, and half sister Maggie; her grandparents Peris and Harry Shrestha; maternal grandparents Mary and Steven Macharia; aunt and uncle Susan and Mr. Kihara, Mary and John Pierre Jean, Miriam and Tony Korsah-Dick, Mercy and Michael Greenaway, Salome and Sam Muhia, Naomi and Lowrekus Wardlow; Moses and Bilha Kamunya, David and Jane Ngugi, and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, coworkers, and dear friends.
