Perley Herman

Perley Herman of Johnson passed away peacefully at home on December 12, 2025 at the age of 91 surrounded by family.

Perley was born in Boxford, Ma. October 8, 1934 where he attended school, until he moved to Morrisville, Vt. He married his wife of 64 years, Nancy Laraway of Johnson. He became a proud member of the Vermont National Guard, where he drove tanks. Perley retired from Pike Industries after 35 years as a truck driver.

Perley is remembered for his love of snowmobiling and his role as Trailmaster for the Sterling Snow Riders. He also enjoyed spending his weekends on his riding lawn mower, puttering in the garage, or cleaning his vehicles.

Perley leaves his wife Nancy Herman, daughter Laurie Herman, sons Scott Herman and wife Denise, Thomas Vivian and wife Sharon, and James Herman and wife Joanne. Grandchildren Jamie Herman, Joshua David, Chad Herman, Shaun Herman, Heather McMahon, Kylie Billado, J.R. Vivian, and Crystal Vivian. Several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Perley was predeceased by his daughter Robbin Billado, one brother, and four sisters.
