Perry was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished spending time with “Papaw’s little baby doll” Oceana. He loved deer hunting, catfishing, gardening, and tinkering around the family property. He loved serving the Lord and was a member of New Vine Missionary Baptist Church.
He started out his career as a strip miner but spent the last 34 years as the yard loader operator at a rock quarry. He could operate most any heavy equipment, but he thoroughly enjoyed the front-end loader he ran, as demonstrated by how he kept the inside meticulously clean.
