Perry Rowland Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mathis Funeral Home - Cochran on Feb. 20, 2026.
Perry Quinton Rowland, age 68, of Dudley, Georgia, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, in the chapel of Mathis Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 2:00 P.M. Followed by the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private in Rowland Family Cemetery.

He was born in Dodge County, Georgia, to the late Aaron and Opal Rowland. Perry graduated from Dodge County High School in 1976 and completed a degree in electronics at the Heart of Georgia Technical College. He went on to dedicate his career to Robins Air Force Base. He took great pride in this work in the electronic department and was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to the mission. He retired August 2024 after an amazing 39 years served.

Despite his many career accomplishments, he remained humble and shied away from recognition and praise while being quick to highlight the contributions from his coworkers and leadership instead.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Opal Rowland, and his sister, Glinda Rowland Cranford.

Perry is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Rhonda DeBerry Rowland; his beloved twin daughters, Jenni Blackmon and Beth Wilkins; and his cherished grandchildren, Millie, Josie, Maddie, Reid, and Avery. Perry was a kind-heart soul- the type of person who would do anything for anyone without question.

His life was marked by his thoughtful gestures, a quiet kindness, a generous spirit, and genuine heart to help others without expectation of reciprocation or acknowledgement. He loved his family deeply and took immense pride in them, just as they did in him. A man of Christian faith, Perry's love for Christ was evident in his daily life through his actions, his compassion, and the way he loved those around him.

2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race. I have kept the faith." Even through his physical struggles and battle with cancer, he ran with his eyes fixed on Jesus with steadfast resolve and was evident in his positive and caring attitude that continued throughout the last leg of his race.

His positive and caring attitude continued throughout, with his love and concern for others taking precedence over concerns for himself.

His gentle spirit and unwavering faith leaving a legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.
