Farris "Pete" G. Eden, Senior, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3rd, in Moore, Oklahoma.
Pete was born on April 15th, 1932, to Julia and Mack Eden in his home in Ashland, Oklahoma and was one of eight siblings. Pete graduated from Ashland High School in 1950 and served from 1953-1961 as a veteran of the Korean War. Pete was very proud of his Choctaw heritage. Pete worked for Borden's for 35 years. He played Minor League Baseball for the New York Giants and his nickname was "Pistol Pete" because of his speed and agility.
Pete married the love of his life, Wilma J. Sisco, on April 13th, 1956 and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years and two incredible sons together before her passing in November 2020. Pete was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who loved adventure and loved exploring Oklahoma with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who was endlessly proud of his family, and his greatest joy was becoming a great-grandfather to his twin great-granddaughters in December 2023.
Pete was hilariously funny and quick-witted, loved a Braum's sundae and homemade brownies, the Texas Rangers and OU softball, and gave the warmest hugs and heartfelt remarks. He is deeply loved by his family and friends who will fondly remember his jokes, strong spirit, and kind heart.
Pete will be buried in Ashland with his sweetheart where their beautiful life together began.
Pete's family would like to thank Kathy Scruggs, friend, Dr. Kori Lewis, provider, and his thoughtful caregivers.
Pete is survived by his sons, Farris G. Eden, Junior, and Gary D. Eden (Lori Whitesell Eden); two grandchildren, Katelyn Eden Long (Jordan Long) and Blake Eden; and two great-grandchildren, Sutton Long and Emilia Long.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Mack Eden, and his wife, Wilma Eden.
