It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Alvord, a beloved member of our family, who departed from us on April 17, 2025. Peter was born on March 18, 1936 in St. Paul, MN and lived a life full of love, kindness, and dedication.

Peter was welcomed into heaven by Sharon Sullivan-Alvord (wife), Maxwell and Irma Alvord (parents), Max Alvord (brother) and Charles Alvord (son), and Howard Griffin (son-in-law).

Peter was a devoted family man, always placing the needs of his loved ones above his own. He is survived by his children, Christine Reece, Terry (Dwight) Anderson, Jeff (Mei Qi) Alvord and their children April, Anja and Christopher, Lynn (Howard) Griffin and their daughter Andrea, Mark (Cindy) Alvord and their daughter Annie, David (Nikki) Alvord and their children Rose and Stanley, Laurie Alvord; Uncle, Gary Gilbertson; Step-Daughter, Linda (Rick) Sullivan Wilkins and children Jeremy and Jason; Great Grandchildren - Ella, Nickols and Nadia Van Natta (Andrea), Noah, Rowan and Otis Garfoot (Jeremy). They will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. His love and support were the foundation of their lives, and his loss leaves a void that can never be filled.

Peter was known for his unwavering commitment to his family, friends, and community. His generosity and compassion touched the lives of many, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Peter and his wife Sharon were dedicated to helping others. They donated to many causes and to their community, helping anyone and everyone they could.

A dedicated professional at Toro Company (Engineering Director - Product Safety and Compliance), Peter made significant contributions to his field, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues. His work ethic and passion for his career were evident in everything he did, so much so that he was nicknamed THE BULLDOG by his co-workers, and he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and integrity.

Peter was an avid golfer. He had a total of 7 Hole-in-Ones! He also golfed all over the world while he was traveling for work at the Toro Company. He even discussed the possibility of going semi-pro at one point in his life. He says he learned to golf from his father Maxwell upon Maxwell's return from World War II. He could tell you golf stories forever. He loved the sport so much and was so proud of all the courses he played.

He attended school at Saint Thomas Academy where he participated in Diving and Football. Even at the end of his life he was still telling stories about playing football.

Peter loved to make others laugh. He always had a funny comeback to anything said to him and he enjoyed wearing goofy hats just to get a laugh from those around him. He even dressed up as the Grinch and went around greeting kids at restaurants and stores.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Sunday, May 18th at 1:30pm at Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Charles, Minnesota, where friends and family will gather to pay their respects and share stories of the remarkable person he was.

Peter Alvord's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the countless lives he touched. His spirit of kindness, generosity, and dedication will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, Peter. You will be dearly missed.
