Obituary For Peter Primo Andreozzi

Peter Primo Andreozzi, 85, of Clemson, SC – formerly of Seekonk, MA and Warren, RI – passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on March 29, 1940, in Warren RI, Peter was the youngest son of Margherita (Fiore) and Vittorio Andreozzi. He graduated from Warren High School in 1958, where he was a proud student-athlete and class officer. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Clemson University, where he cherished both his academic experience and his time on the football field. He later earned a Master's degree from Rhode Island College and a PhD in Mathematics Education from George Peabody College in Nashville, TN.

Peter dedicated his life to education. He began his career at Warren High School as a math teacher and coach of football and wrestling. He continued in the classroom and on the sidelines at Seekonk High School, eventually becoming a deeply respected administrator in the Seekonk school district. Affectionately known as "Doc", he was honored when a wing of the Seekonk Middle School was named in his honor – a tribute to his unwavering belief in the limitless potential of every child. He later brought his love of teaching to Rhode Island College, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education.

Peter was inducted into both the Warren Athletic Hall of Fame and the Seekonk Athletic Hall of Fame. A devoted Clemson fan, he followed his alma mater with pride and loyalty.

A man of deep faith, Peter found spiritual homes in both St. Andrew's Church in Clemson and St. Alexander's Church in Warren. He cherished his Italian heritage and especially loved the tradition of Christmas Eve on Coomer Avenue, where family gathered to celebrate the Feast of the Seven Fishes, sharing food, stories, and laughter. Even in his final days, he fondly recalled the aroma of his parents' smelts frying on Christmas Eve.

Peter's legacy is one of love, tradition, and a lifelong devotion to learning. His impact will live on in the hearts of his family, his students, and all who were lucky enough to know him.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen (Riley) Andreozzi; his sons, Victor Andreozzi (Leslie), Peter Andreozzi, and Brendan Jones; and his daughter, Jessica Thompson (Nathan). He was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Gina Marie Andreozzi.

"Papa" adored his grandchildren - Stephanie Michalopoulos, Kaeleigh Andreozzi, Jared Andreozzi, Isaiah Thompson, and Vittorio Andreozzi - as well as his great-grandchildren, Bella Levesque, Amiyah Andreozzi, and Levi Rocha. He was the brother of the late Filomena Abbruzzi (Pasquale) and Victor Andreozzi (Jeannie), and is also fondly remembered by Maryann Poland, mother of his children, Gina, Victor, and Peter.
