Peter Anest

Peter Anest, 87, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL. He was born on August 15, 1934 in Greece and came to the USA in 1947. Peter had been a Libertyville resident since 1969 and the owner of State Oil Company in Libertyville for 50 years. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville, where he was a past board member and an active member of the order of AHEPA. Peter will be remembered as a hardworking, generous, kind man that loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Thalia Anest; 3 children, Jennie (Kenneth) Chalifoux, Catherine (Anthony) DeMoon and Christopher (Patricia) Anest; 9 grandchildren, Peter, Sophia, Nicholas, Julia, Zoe, Sam, Thalia, Annie and Peter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Apostolos & Giannoula Anastasopoulos and by his brother, Bill Anest.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a trisagion service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, 2022 at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 N. O'Plaine Road in Libertyville. Interment will follow to New Gracanica Cemetery in Third Lake, IL.
