Peter Garrido Aquiningoc, 74, of Ferndale passed away peacefully Thursday, July 18 th 2024 at the Hospice House in Bellingham from cancer after his 11-year battle. He was born August 24, 1949, in Santa Rita, Guam to Brigida and Pedro Aquiningoc. They moved from Guam to Long Beach, California in 1957 and to Bremerton, Washington in 1975. He then moved his family to Whatcom County in 1988. Peter retired from the Silver Reef Casino in 2020.
Pete, as he often went by, loved working on cars, playing softball, gambling, LA sports including the USC trojans, family time, solid gold oldies and other music, dancing, marbles, martial arts, barbeques, family gatherings, lowriders, old school cars and anything that had to do with his wife. He attended Polytechnic Highschool in Long Beach Ca. Served in the US Marine Corp. Those who knew Pete knew that he was funny, caring, loyal, empathetic, stern but fair, accepted and treated friends like family.
He is preceded in death by his Father, Pedro Perez Aquiningoc. He is survived by his Mother Brigida of Port Orchard, wife Beverly of Ferndale; three sons, Anthony of Ferndale, Aaron of Ferndale, and Pedro of Ferndale; two daughters, Anna (Ron) of California and Angela of Bellingham. 5 siblings; Tony G (Fran) of Port Orchard, Edith of Port Orchard, Eileen (David) of Bremerton, Steve of Port Orchard and Velma of Port Orchard, 13 grandchildren; Tristen (Jacob), Alina, Jose, Antonio, Vernelle (Brian), Alejandro, Kailani, Jamie, Andrew, Athan, Lil Angela, Akaiden, and Alivia. 2 great grandchildren; Riley, Alonzo and countless nieces and nephews.
A Potluck style Celebration of Life event will be held on Saturday, August 10 th from 10am to 6pm at the Lummi Veterans Hall (Former Lummi Head Start Building) located at 2508 Kwina, Road, Ferndale WA.
