Peter Bafumi, age 70, of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at home , surrounded by his family, on January 4, 2026. He was born on March 1, 1955 in Melilli, Sicily, Italy and he and his family immigrated to Middletown in 1966, where he built a life rooted in family, dedication, and hard work.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents, Salvatore and Maria (Morello) Bafumi. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Susan (Marthins) Bafumi, and their three daughters: Francesca Duggins (George), Rachel Bafumi, and Christina Bafumi. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Dante, Domenic, and Davin Lewis; Maurice, Sean, and Marquese Brackett and Zy'yana Slade ; and Jeremiah and Ozais Bafumi. He is also a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren.

Peter is also survived by his brothers: Victor Bafumi and his wife Linda, Guido Bafumi and his wife Lauren and Maurice Bafumi and his wife Barbara.

A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Peter found his greatest joy in his family. He was known for his warmth, loyalty, and strong work ethic. Over the years, Peter was employed by Olin Ski, The Hartford Courant, and he also helped run Alpha's Pizza along with his wife, where he became a familiar and friendly presence to many in the community.

Peter will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on January 31, 2026 from 1 to 3 PM at D'Angelo's Funeral Home in Middletown, Connecticut.
