Peter Bejsiuk Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - Moorestown on Dec. 19, 2025.
Peter S. Bejsiuk, born 1954 of Moorestown and Brigantine, passed away on Dec. 18th 2025 at his house in Brigantine at the age of 71.

Peter attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He obtained his law degree from George Washington University Law School, Washington DC, in 1979. Pete met his wife, Diane Smith, when set up on a date by his best friend. He was smitten, and Diane became his lifelong love and supporter through thick and thin.

Peter served as a Law Clerk to the Hon. Paul Lowengrub, Superior Court of New Jersey in Camden, NJ, where he began his law career. Peter was recruited to join the firm of Farr, Reifsteck and Wolf where he handled business and banking clientele. He then joined the firm of Capehart & Scatchard in Mount Laurel, New Jersey in 1985, where he rose to become the managing partner from 2001 to 2016, when he retired. He excelled as an attorney, and served as a mentor to countless lawyers over the years.

Peter was involved in numerous charities, taking on leadership roles to help those in need. Sharp-witted, intelligent, and extremely funny, he was at home in the courtroom, the boardroom, or at sea on a boat. Pete and his family traveled the world, bringing humor and curiosity everywhere they went. They spent many summers enjoying boating and fishing in Avalon and Brigantine. Known for his love of mischief and roaring laugh, Pete was always the life of the party. An avid Phillies and Eagles fan, what Pete loved most was to spend time with his wife, Diane, and their boys, Stephen, Matthew, and Christopher. They supported them in their various endeavors, whether that be school, sports, travel, or fishing.

Pete was deeply loved by his family and friends, and was an incredible source of guidance, encouragement and humor to everyone who knew him. We will miss him dearly.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sat. Dec. 27th, from 9:30 – 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 42 W. Main St. Moorestown, NJ.

Followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 am. Interment will be Private
