Peter Bifone Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Taylorsville Rd on Jan. 27, 2026.
Peter Andrew Bifone was born on November 5, 1970 in West Simsbury, CT to Lily and John Bifone, Sr. He spent his formative and early adult years playing sports, especially baseball. He graduated from Trinity High School and Bellarmine College. He then pursued business administration where he worked to successfully provide for his family.

When Peter was young, he was a very accomplished athlete. He participated in many sports but he loved baseball. When he played Little League, he was always one of the stars of his team and at age 13 qualified for the World Series in Newark, OH. Later, he attended Trinity High School in Louisville where he pitched for their baseball team and was a starting linebacker for their football team. Upon graduation, he accepted a football scholarship from Morehead State College and after being "redshirted" in his freshman year he decided to accept a scholarship in baseball from Bellarmine College where he was later enshrined in Bellarmine's Baseball Hall of Fame. In January of 1994, he was signed as a free agent to the Spokane Indians, a professional team of the San Diego Padres minor league where he played first base.

Peter was a charismatic, loving father who enjoyed baseball, golf, and recently revisiting his teenage drum-playing up until the day of his passing. He had a keen empathic sense that allowed him to set a powerful example of always helping someone in need.

Peter was preceded in death by his God Parents Domenick and Janet Pascale, and his aunts Emily Bifone, and Rosalie O'Hara

Peter passed away on January 23rd suddenly at home. He is survived by his wife, Mandy and two sons, Peter and Jacob. He is also survived by his parents, John and Lily; two brothers, John (Carolyn) and Chris (Joanna); and his cousins, Susan and Dawn Pascale, who were like sisters to him. He also had many loving nieces and nephews.

Peter's visitation will be Sunday, February 1 from 2-8pm at Ratterman Funeral Home in Jeffersontown 10600 Taylorsville Rd. His funeral Mass is Monday, February 2, at 11am at St. Edward Church 9608 Sue Helen Dr. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

My deepest condolences to the wonderful Bifone family. I have fond memories of babysitting Peter, John, and Chris as we all grew up in Glenview Hills. The Bifone family was always kind to me and I am sorry for their loss.
