Robert Wuerth Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home - Taylorsville Rd on Jan. 15, 2026.
Robert (Bob) Wuerth passed away January 15, 2026, with family by his side. He was born in Louisville, KY to Eddie Paul and Mary Ruth (Mackey) Wuerth and was the fifth of seven children. He attended Most Blessed Sacrament grade school, DeSales High School and then graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Bellarmine and master's degree in accounting from University of Louisville.
Bob served as a first Lieutenant in the United States Army in Vietnam, and was awarded numerous accolades, including the Bronze Star. Bob worked as a Certified Public Accountant (after having passed the full exam on the first try) and retired from the IRS as a large case examiner after 35 years.
He was a devoted husband of 45 years, a dedicated father and loving grandfather. He always enjoyed being the photographer – whether it be his kids or grandkids sporting or music events – as well as the Hot Rod Shows at Mike Linnig's Restaurant, which benefitted a charity close to his heart, the Crusade for Children.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Eddie Paul and Mary Ruth Wuerth, brother Fr. Jim Wuerth, sister Mary Francis Wright and his son Timothy Janes. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Linnig) Wuerth, daughter Shannon Majors (Heath), sons Matthew Wuerth (Alicia) and Brandon Wuerth (Carmen) and grandchildren Hunter Majors, Jocelyn Majors, Ethan Wuerth, Isabel Wuerth, Olivia Wuerth, and Austin Wuerth.
Visitation will be from 2-8 pm Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown 10600 Taylorsville Rd. His Funeral Mass will be 12 Noon on Monday, January 19, 2026 at St Edward Catholic Church 9608 Sue Helen Drive. Burial will follow with military honors at Calvary Cemetery.
