Peter Angelo Cacchillo

Peter A. Cacchillo, Jr. age 78, of Derby entered into rest on Monday October 18, 2021 in his home with his loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband of 57 years to Elaine (Cerritelli) Cacchillo. He was born in Derby on January 7, 1943 son of the late Peter A. and Ruth (Forte) Cacchillo, Sr and was a lifelong Derby resident. Pete was a member of the US Navy stationed in Saigon during the Vietnam War. He was an Inspector at Sikorsky Aircraft for 42 years until his retirement. He loved vacationing, especially to Atlantic City, he liked dancing and 50's music. He was an animal lover and especially liked to feed birds in his yard. Most of all he loves spending time with his family.
He is the beloved father of Lisa Czajkowski and her husband Frank and the late Peter A. Cacchillo, III, loving grandfather of Renee Porto and her husband Christopher, Heather Cerasale and her husband Matthew and Frank Czajkowski, great grandfather of Gianna and Christopher Porto. He is also survived by two brothers Robert Cacchillo and his wife Dotti, Perry Cacchillo and his wife Joanne, a very special sister in law Mary Cacchillo and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers John, Jerry and Joseph.
Friends may call on Friday October 22, 2021 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. Masks are required inside of the funeral home during visitation. His funeral will leave the funeral home at 11:45 am for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. Mary Church, Derby. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mt, St. Peter Cemetery.
