Sharon Karine "Klos" Joyce

Sharon K. Joyce, age 78, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving children and family.

Born on July 24, 1947, in Derby, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Francis Klos, Jr. and Esther (Kosowsky) Klos. Sharon was the devoted wife of the late Gerald J. Joyce, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage. Gerry's passing left her heartbroken. In 1976, Sharon and Gerry moved to Naugatuck to raise their family, forming cherished lifelong friendships on Moonlight Circle. After her husband's passing, Sharon relocated to Stratford in 2019 to be closer to her family.

Throughout her career, Sharon held positions with several companies and dedicated many years of service to Webster Bank until her retirement in 2010. Her retirement joyfully coincided with the arrival of her first grandchild, beginning a chapter she treasured most. She adored her grandchildren and delighted in showering them with love, attention, and countless special memories. Sharon especially enjoyed traveling in her retirement years with her husband, family, and dear friends, particularly Barbara and Richard Hemenway.

Sharon is survived by her loving children, Jeremy Joyce (Elayne) and Meghan Lanese (David). She was a proud and devoted Meemaw to Marina and Oliver Lanese. She also leaves behind her sister, Debbie Bennard (David), and her brother, Francis Klos III (Dena), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to greet the family at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. A final gathering will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.
