Mr. Peter "Pete" Compitello, age 63, of Douglasville passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on December 11, 1961. Mr. Compitello is preceded in death by his father, Rocco Compitello.

Pete's life was marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to both his family and his work.

Following his honorable service in the United States Army from 1986 until 1989, where he developed a keen interest in aviation particularly through his work with Cobra Attack Helicopters, Pete embarked on a remarkable thirty-six-year career with Delta Airlines. Throughout his time at Delta, he excelled in various roles, ultimately serving as an Account Executive for Military Programs. His colleagues will remember him fondly for his warm personality and compassionate spirit, especially with his involvement with the Delta Airlines Wellness Program and other humanitarian programs such as the Toys for Tots initiative and with the Habitat for Humanity, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community.

Pete was not only a dedicated professional but also a passionate traveler who treasured exploring places across the globe. He was also a very talented cook, preparing meals at home and for his colleagues. Above all, he was a devoted family man, prioritizing involvement in the many activities his children engaged in, such as school band programs and sporting events. His love for his family was evident in all that he did.

Proud of his Italian heritage, Pete held a special connection to his roots in Hoboken, which remained an integral part of his identity. He will be remembered for his outgoing personality, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 34 years, Sheila (Ferris) Compitello of Douglasville; his children, Peter Compitello, Roman Compitello, and Angela Compitello, all of Douglasville; his mother, Angela (Portinause) Compitello of Little Egg Harbor, New Jersey; his brother and sister-in-law, Rocco and Yvonne Compitello of Saddle Brook, New Jersey; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Diane and Albert Fave of Normandy Beach, New Jersey, and Laura Mutter of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Pete is also survived by many other relatives and his extended Delta Airlines family.

The family will receive friends at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel (71 Park Heights St. Buchanan, GA 30113) on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 6P.M. until 8P.M.
