Peter Corallo Obituary

Peter A. Corallo ObituaryPeter A. Corallo was born on October 31, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey. He was a husband to Victoria (Silvestri) Corallo and a father to Peter J. and his wife, Dara (Smith), beloved grandfather to PJ, his wife Kelly, Emily, her fiancé Brandon and Gianna. Peter is pre-deceased by his parents, Peter N. and Lena (Savoca) and his brother Nicholas. He is survived by his sister, Charlotte Malaspina, pre-deceased by her husband Louis. In addition, he was "Uncle Pete" to many others in his extended family.
Peter Corallo passed peacefully on the morning of Sunday, October 5, 2025 at the age of 94, with his beloved caregiver at his side. His whole family surrounded him in his last days here on this earth and all got to express their love for him and share stories about his successful, generously long- life journey. Peter served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War for over two years. He was very proud of our country and to be an American. Peter was a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor's of Arts and Science. Peter was a Chemist by trade for Merck and Co. for over 30 years. He knew something about almost everything and was extremely helpful and handy. He loved to help people solve problems and fix things that were broken. He and his beautiful wife Victoria met on the beaches of Atlantic City many years ago and lived a wonderful life together starting in Union, NJ and then finally to Ocean Twp. where they resided for the past 50 years. Although they only had one son, they were blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, who filled their world with endless love and so many fun times.
Peter had a sincere appreciation for traditional Italian food and family. He especially loved his spaghetti and clam sauce amongst a variety of shellfish. He and his wife Victoria always loved entertaining with a huge spread of food and a house full of people. We can remember plenty of New Year's Eve's when he would start frying sausage and peppers after midnight and would fill the table once again with more food. He loved listening to music and had some surprisingly favorite bands like Chicago, Elton John, Journey, Boston and Led Zeppelin to name a few. Led Zeppelin was quoted on one of his work calendars when he was employed by Merck and he loved the quote which was "and a new day will dawn for those who stand long and the forests will echo with laughter".
Peter was a man of great faith and practiced his religion each week at St. Anselm Church with his wife Victoria. He even led some Bible study classes and prayed the rosary with fellow parishioners. He will truly be missed by all.
Visitation: Thursday, October 9, 2025, 9:30-10:30 am at St. Anselm Roman Catholic Church, 1028 Wayside Road, Tinton Falls, NJ. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am at the Church. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to DAV, Tunnels to Towers or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
