Corallo, Carmela (nee Agnello), age 91, of North Haledon, on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Born in Santa Croce Camerina, Sicily, Italy, Carmela came to the U.S. in 1956, settling in Paterson. She later moved to Hawthorne and then to North Haledon where she lived for over 50 years. A former seamstress, Carmela was also a parishioner at St. Anthony's R.C. Church in Hawthorne and a devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary, she prayed the rosary every day. In her spare time, Carmela enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was also a member of the San Giuseppe Santa Croce Camerina Society of Hawthorne.
Carmela is survived by her loving husband Carmelo Corallo of 69 years. Loving mother of Joseph Corallo of Oviedo, FL and Grace Carbone and her husband Michael Meehan of Hawthorne. Grandmother of Joseph Carbone and his wife Caitlin, Julie Anne Graziano and her husband Andrew, Angela Corallo, and Christina Orozco and her husband Marcinko. Great grandmother of Dillon, Natalie, Luke, and Carter. Sister of Joseph Agnello and his wife Joan. Aunt of Frank, Joe, and Terri. She is also survived by many dear cousins.
Funeral will be departing at 9:00am on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne for a 9:30am funeral mass at St. Anthony's R.C. Church, Hawthorne. Entombment will follow at Calvary Mausoleum in Paterson. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
