Born on August 29, 1944 in Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Nicolina (Grisanti) DiSimone. Peter and his family began their lives in the United States in 1956. He attended Linton High School, graduating in the class of 1964, and soon after served in Viet Nam with the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.
After his service, Peter worked as a plumber and steamfitter for General Electric Company, retiring in 2002.
He enjoyed bowling, golfing, spending time in his vegetable garden as well as playing card games in a casino, renovating his home, and making wine with his mother, a cherished tradition that allowed him to honor his heritage.
Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Betty J. DiSimone; sister JoAnn DelGiudice; sister-in-law Sue Enright; brothers-in-law Clay Derkowski and Pete Derkowski; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and special friends.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Road, Glenville. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 11 am. Internment will take place in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Peter's memory to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302.
