Peter G. Dooney

EAST FISHKILL – Peter G. Dooney, 62, an area resident since 2003 and formerly of Peekskill, died on January 28, 2024 at Archcare at Ferncliff following a courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
Born in Mount Kisco on June 11, 1961, he was the son of the late John and Tina (Giacone) Dooney. Peter had been employed as a pipe insulator for Asbestos Local #91 in Peekskill. As a resident of Archcare, he attended Mass in their chapel. His greatest love was for his children, grandchildren, family and friends who he held dearly in his heart along with being a member of the Hopewell Reformed AA group. He was so proud to be a part of the Oakside Bombers softball team and various dart teams in the past. He was an avid baseball and football fan of the NY Yankees and the Chicago Bears.
Peter is survived by his children, Troy Dooney and his wife Michelle, John Dooney and Sarah Dooney; his grandsons, Jonathan, Nicholas and Christopher; his siblings, Greg Dooney, Glen Dooney and Barbara Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brothers, John Dooney and Jimmy Dooney.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 3-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment in Hopewell Cemetery.
