Service for Peter Gagliardo has been canceled due to weather.
Peter Samuel Gagliardo, 84, of Coloma was called home to be with the Lord on Dec. 21, 2025, at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph, surrounded by his family.
He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in South Haven for 20 years. Pastors Larry Phillips and Michael (Mick) Schmid were always there for Pete and the family providing support and prayers during all of his hospital stays, procedures and home visits.
Pete was born in Chicago to parents Anthony and Rose (Pirri) Gagliardo on Feb. 14, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Dolly Bertog and Antonette "Toni" Wood.
Pete leaves behind his loving wife Alice (Ryan-Burns), his children: Mark (Jenny) Gagliardo of Coloma, Troy (Tracy) Gagliardo of N.C. and stepchildren: Kim (Mike) Taylor of Stevensville and John Burns of St. Joseph; his grandchildren: Katlyn and Nick Taylor, Ally and Isabella Gagliardo and Nicholas Gagliardo. Pete is also survived by his brother, Tony Gagliardo of Baldwin, Mich.; brother-in-law, Tom Wood and many nieces and nephews, along with a dear family friend that was always said to be Pete and Alice's adopted son: Tom Seay and his wife Sheri.
He had a love for cars and made his career as a service manager throughout the years for Vanderzee's, LeValley's, Betten's and Schroeder's and after he retired he worked part time for NAPA Auto Parts doing deliveries throughout Southwest Michigan.
He was loved by many and the saying, "a stranger is a friend I haven't met yet," there are no truer words that described him. You could not go anywhere that he didn't know someone and he was always happy to stop and catch up with his friends.
Pete loved his family dearly and was very proud of his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments. He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, poppa, brother, friend and he is so incredibly missed by all. Our world will never be the same without him.
Service has been canceled due to inclimate weather.
2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
Pete now rests in the arms of the Savior, free from pain and sorrow, rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
