HEMINGWAY - Peter J. George 67 passed away peacefully at his home in Hemingway on November 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Peter is survived by his cherished children, James P. George and Kara E. George, both of Hemingway, SC. He is also remembered by his sisters, Martha Sugalski of Florida, Evangaline Wilson of Mass, and Lorriane George of Ct, alongside numerous nieces and a nephew who held a special place in his heart. He was predeceased by his parents, James P. George and Cecelia (Geotis) George, as well as his sister, Patricia Chakalis.
Born in Northbridge, Massachusetts, Peter grew up in a nurturing environment and embraced a wide range of work experiences after graduating high school. His career included working for Lantour, Fourstar Co, Walgreens warehouse then retired and moved to South Carolina.
An active and passionate individual, Peter contributed his talents to pyrotechnics for 20 years with Telstar of NH for various shows and events. Music played a significant role in his life; Peter was an avid musician, performing with bands such as Pannin' for Gold, The Velvet Rose Band and Bloodlines, a personal endeavor with his son and another father Greg Morris and his son Zack Morris. He also found camaraderie within a motorcycle group Chrome & Steel Veteran riders of Putnam, CT where he helped support veterans.
He was a devoted member of the Saints Constantine & Helen Church in Webster, where he took pride in participating within his community.
Peter will be deeply missed, yet his love and spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him.
His funeral service will be held at 11AM, Monday, November, 24 in Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 37 Lake Pkwy, Webster, MA 01570.
Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster.
