Peter Jeffrey "Jeff" Gibson, 66 of Pownal, Vermont, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family at his home on August 24, 2023, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Lockport, New York on August 22, 1957, the son of Peter E. and Alberta (Moore) Gibson.
A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, Jeff spent many years as both a salesperson and dealer principal in the tractor and automobile industries and could identify virtually any classic automobile or antique tractor with unreal accuracy. He had a particular knack for training new salespeople, always with an emphasis on forging strong relationships. Farming was a lifelong passion, with Jeff owning and operating several dairy farms over the years. Among his hobbies were stockcar racing, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, antique tractors, the New York Jets, and spending time with his Grandson Johnny.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Wendy (Subcleff) Gibson, of Pownal, VT; two sons; Dylan Gibson of Pownal, VT and Pete (Heather) Gibson of Arkansas; former wife Melissa Gibson of Arkansas; grandson John Jeffrey Gibson; brothers Jamey Gibson of Greenwich, NY and Drew (Linda) Roemer of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law Donna (Roberts) Gibson, nieces Lindsey Gibson (Tom Poli), Tara (Pete) Sauber; nephews Dustin (Kassie) Gibson and Andrew (Brynn) Roemer; and his "best friends", dogs Cowboy, Zoey and Gadget.
Jeff was predeceased by his father Peter E. Gibson and stepmother and "second mom" Janice Gibson; mother Alberta Roemer, and his brothers John Gibson and Carl Roemer.
There will be a celebration of life for Jeff at a later date.
