Mr. Peter Halliday, age 60, of Gainesville, GA passed away on January 4th, 2025.Peter was the second son of John and Nancy Halliday. Born on August 4th, 1964, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C., Peter spent his early childhood in Edgewater Maryland where he gained a great love of the ocean but also as a child growing up in the late 60's and early 70's living near the Nation's Capital, he became infatuated with all things related to space exploration. A passion he maintained throughout his life.
Peter's father was the child of Stage and Screen actor John Halliday and former model and actor Elanor Halliday. John and Elanor moved to the Hawaiian Islands in the 1930's. Having been raised in Hawaii, Peter's father had the opportunity to move his young family back to the Islands where Peter spent the remainder of his childhood and early adult life. The Hawaiian Islands hold a very special place in our family's heart, which is why our song dedications today are both from Hawaiian artists and songwriters.
Peter also had an engineer's mindset and used it to lead a successful career in the residential construction market, designing truss and roof structures. We believe his engineering mind was a product of his early fascination with Rocket Launches, Moon Landings and Space exploration. He was a voracious reader who especially loved to read science fiction novels and would talk for hours about the Universe and all of its
possibilities.
Our hope is that as Peter's soul shed its mortal coil, God gave Peter a glimpse of what lay beyond the horizon, and set him free to explore it all.
It would have been his greatest wish.
