It was a joy to teach him in 1st grade and work with him directing the 5th grade play. I remember fondly his big heart, inviting personality, and beautiful smile. I am so heartbroken to hear the news of Peter's passing. I had the absolute pleasure and joy of teaching him in the FOJO Band for just one year. He was so kind and such a bright spot to my time there. I remember how proud I was to see him perform in Oliver. My daughter, Deanna, was good friends with Peter since her freshman year at Wofford. My son, Jordan pledged Kappa Sigma with Peter. They thought the world of Peter.
It is with deep sadness that family and friends must come to terms with the great loss of Peter's passing. He leaves a deep void in many people's hearts. I am just heartbroken about this precious young man gone too soon. I taught Peter in 4th grade and he will always stand out in my mind for being extremely intelligent, witty, charming, creative, kind, and a wonderful problem solver. We will always have fond memories of his performances in the Fort Johnson Players where he shared his wonderful talents. We still have our sweet dog that I can just see Peter holding as a puppy when he gave her to our family. And most of all, we remember Peter's ready smile and warm hugs that lit up any room he was in! May the sorrow the casts its shadows on you now give way to joy when this stormy season passes! I had the privilege of teaching Peter for the entirety of two years. Ive followed his progress forward. When he was a junior, he listed many goals. If you were to go down the list of those goals whether it was learning Arabic or participating in international policy those goals were accomplished. I remember his sketchbook, his art, his acting in plays and his clear vocal talent in song. I imagine if you were to look through his sketchbook you would find his dream mansion and the names he intended his future son and daughter to have. He will be greatly missed. May you find peace as this storm calms and know that through Peter the very best of your guidance was made present to the world!
