Peter Joseph Hoffman

Peter Joseph Hoffman, age 79, of Floyds Knobs and Borden, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home on December 11, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, Peter was the son of Fred and Violet (Totton) Hoffman. He attended St. Mary's of the Knobs Catholic School and graduated from Providence High School in Clarksville. He later earned an associate degree in business from Indiana University Southeast. Peter attended St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs, IN.
Peter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970, achieving the rank of Buck Sergeant. Following his military service, he worked in the bait and tackle industry as a sales Rep, and later became a Press Operator for Beach Mold & Tool.
On August 14, 1976, Peter married the love of his life, Joann (Holland) Hoffman. Together they made their home in Floyds Knobs, where they raised their family. Peter enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time outdoors, and watching sports. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, loyalty, and love for his family.
Peter is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joann Hoffman; his sister, Doris Rakes; and his cat and faithful companion Malaija "Mo".
He is survived by his sons, Fred Joseph (Darcie) Hoffman. and Edward Lee Hoffman; grandchildren, McKenna Hoffman, Blake Hoffman, Lacy Hoffman, Essix Drake, and Levi Hoffman; great-grandchildren, Benjamin Hoffman and Maylani Hoffman.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, December 15, 2025, and again on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Swarens Funeral Home in Ramsey, Indiana.
Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Swarens Funeral Home, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Milltown.
