Peter J. Holm

Peter J. Holm, 79, passed away suddenly at home on January 25, 2026.
Born January 16, 1947, in Rockford, Illinois, to Alice and Floyd Holm.
He graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford and later earned a Master's in Business Administration degree from Rockford College.
He was a Vietnam War veteran, and served in the United States Army from 1969-1971. He was awarded a Bronze Star for his meritorious service, and was named Soldier of the Month. He participated in the Vets Roll program, and he was honored in Washington, D.C. in May 2025.
He was an active member of Tebala Shrine, and participated for many years in a number of clubs and units supporting the Shriners Hospitals for Children, including the Director's Staff, the Loves Park Shrine Club, and the Tebala Guard Unit.
He volunteered his time as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, and earned the Wood Badge for advanced adult leadership training.
He is survived by his wife Jean Holm; his son Matthew Holm; his sister Holly Varland (Eric); his sister-in-love Deborah Holm; nephews Peter Holm (Tansy), James Holm (Rachael), Jonathan Holm (Corrie), and Jason Varland (Kyersten); and nieces Debrah Gendreau and Katherine Gould (Kimberly).
He is predeceased by his parents Floyd Holm and Alice Alfredson, and his brother Gregory Holm.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m at the Tebala Event Center, 7910 Newburg Road, Rockford, Illinois 61108.
