Peter Micheal Jennings

Peter Micheal Jennings, known as Pete to family and friends, passed away on November 5, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. He was born in Anderson, South Carolina on December 11, 1976.
Pete was a quiet, kind-hearted man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. In his youth, he enjoyed traveling and exploring the country and lived in several places throughout his life, including South Carolina, Jacksonville, Florida, and Brevard, North Carolina. Peter lovingly embraced his role as a stepfather over the last 10 years, creating many family memories. An avid cyclist, he rode almost daily and loved being outdoors, whether exploring by bike or simply enjoying the natural world around him. His love for animals, especially cats, was matched only by his fondness for a well-crafted dad joke and a good brew-whether enjoying a cold beer or experimenting with homebrewing. Pete was also passionate about music, counting the Grateful Dead among his favorite bands.
Peter was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mary Myers Huff. His cherished feline companions, Lola and Aggie, await him on the other side of the rainbow bridge.
Pete is survived by his wife, Katie Fountain, and his stepchildren, Teddy and Hazel Fountain. He is also survived by his father, Joe Jennings; stepmother, Elise Jennings; brother, Adam Jennings; nephew, Jacob Jennings; and his grandfather, Marvin Myers, with whom he created many treasured memories on the family farm. Also surviving are his aunt, Arlene Teaster, and uncles, Ric Myers and Neal Myers. In Chicago, Peter was fortunate to be close with his sister and brother-in-law Kelly and Rufino Jimenez, as well as their son Alastair.
Pete will be deeply missed, and his death is a profound loss to everyone who knew him.
