Dr. Peter R. Johnson, born on November 3rd, 1942, in Illinois, was sent to his eternal home in heaven on October 1st, 2025. He was the husband of his lifelong companion, love of his life, Joanne (Bollinger) Johnson. Along with his beautiful wife, he raised his family in Pittsburgh PA, moved to Wheeling, WV, then migrated to Port Richey, FL. He lived in Florida from 1991 until his passing. Peter now reunites with his wife, Joanne, and is overjoyed to spend eternity with her.

Peter had a successful career in the medical field. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in Speech Pathology and Audiology. Peter was a strong believer in quality patient care and would do what was necessary to serve underprivileged patients and ensure they received proper care. He was a member of American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), Florida Association Of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists (FLASHA), Florida Department of Health/Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Peter authored several books which tied into his specialty. Drugs & Dysphagia 1st and 2nd editions were breakthrough medical references which continue to be taught to medical students worldwide.

Peter was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. He had a profound impact on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His dedication to his faith and his desire to bring light to those in need epitomized his joyful and generous nature.

Peter is survived by his children Renee (James) and Patrick (LeighAnn); as well as his grandchildren Sydney, Carter, Evan, and Lynn.
