Peter Michael Jones passed away on April 28, 2025. Beloved son of the late William Stanley and Stella (nee Cappuccio) Jones.
Peter was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 6, 1957; he was 67 years old.
Always a character, Pete was larger than life to many people. His jokes came easily, they were never appropriate, and they were always hilarious. Pete was a born storyteller. His tall tales were always close enough to reality that you never knew what was true. Did archeologists once live in their home? Was a troll really buried in the basement? Did he in fact really catch a 25lb frozen turkey from the roof of a one-story building?
A man of many interests, Pete was known to speak about his love of public transportation or spend hours researching the history of buildings and neighborhoods from his childhood in Flatbush. He was an avid reader, a baseball enthusiast, and a lover of music. Pete delighted in belting out Lil Jon’s “Get Low” and seeing people’s reactions, most especially his colleagues in the various operating rooms at Temple and Thomas Jefferson.
But more than anything, Peter Jones was the consummate “People Person”. He made friends wherever he went, slipping into conversations like a fish into water. Pete’s warmth and inquisitive nature drew people in, but his magnetic personality and open interest in whomever he was speaking with kept them. He was unforgettable.
Pete loved many things, but he loved his family the most. He was a rock in the stormy sea, always there when you needed him, with an inappropriate joke that was so ridiculous you just had to laugh. Peter Jones is survived by his beloved wife, Maria (nee Cutrone). Pete and Maria would have celebrated their 45th anniversary on May 10, 2025. The 45th anniversary is known as the sapphire anniversary, not only Pete’s birthstone but also the color Maria always said made his blue eyes pop.
Pete, or to his children and grandchildren - Papi, Poppi, Petey J., and Potpie, is also survived by his children, Alexandra Siedsma (Matthew), Katheryn Jones (Beth Wexler), Meredith Jones (Evan Weinstein), and P. Michael Jones Jr. (Jessica Brackett); And his grandchildren, Wyatt and Elizabeth.
Pete left us too soon and the world is a little less bright today. His family invites friends to celebrate his big, beautiful life in bright and bold color on Saturday, May 3, 2025. There will be a viewing from 10:30am to 12:30pm at The Donohue Funeral Home, 366 West Lancaster Ave, Wayne, PA followed by his funeral service at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 35 Old Eagle School Road, Strafford, PA. Interment at Calvary Cemetery, Villanova, PA.
