Peter Ross Knowles (81) beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully in his home on July 20, in Kingston, MA surrounded by loved ones.
Peter was born on January 11, 1944 to Peter Ross Knowles Sr and Lilly (Holm) Knowles and his adoring sister Lilly (Knowles) Bezanson. He lived his younger years in Braintree, MA.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife Elaine (Sherman) Knowles and daughters Lauren (Searcy) Knowles and Kristine (Knowles) Wright and son in law Maxwell Wright, along with his adored 3 grand daughters Katherine Searcy, Veronica Searcy, and Lily Wright who he was so incredibly proud of. He also left behind his cherished dog Laycie who has never left his side.
Peter was a proud Veteran of the US Air Force, and former member of the Freemasons and International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Peter loved his family especially "all of his girls" and would do anything for them. He loved animals and cherished his dogs.
He helped raise Elaine's daughters Jennifer (Dunn) Chebator, spouse John Chebator and Kristin (Dunn) Ezell, spouse JR Ezell. They have 3 sons between them Aldo Bertoni and Jackson and Nolan Ezell.
He was a very hard worker and owned PRK Trucking providing transportation all over the New England area. He knew almost every road in MA, NH and Maine by heart and loved to help anyone with directions.
In his later years he was a shuttle driver for Linden Ponds Retirement Community in Hingham, MA. A job he absolutely loved. He loved taking people to appointments, lunches, Theater and Casinos and learning all about them and meeting their dogs and giving them treats. They spoiled him back with homemade baked goods!( And if you knew Peter that was a way to his heart)
He loved History, Cars (Corvettes especially), music, boats, Warcraft planes, and spending his retirement days reading on his deck at home with his wife and dog. He loved his family so much and told them every day.
He was very proud of his Norwegian and Scottish heritage and tried to keep in touch with family with letters and phone calls faithfully. He will be remembered with a vivacious sense of humor and an ability to fix almost anything and or have the tool to fix it. Anyone who has met Peter has always said of him he was one of the best. His friends loved him almost as much as he loved them. Anyone close to him knew he loved going out for breakfast with Family and Friends as one of his absolute favorite things to do!
He will be so very missed and know he is finally at peace watching over his girls.
Visiting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St, Kingston on Friday July 25, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00pm.
