Peter Alan Lake
Beloved son, father, and brother passed away early Saturday morning October 4th, 2025. His body surrendered to the years of struggling with addictions.
Peter was born May 19, 1984. He was raised in Bountiful, Utah, surrounded by his loving family and amazing lifelong friends. He graduated from Bountiful High School, where excelled in academics and athletics and was captain of the state championship soccer team and president of the National Honor Society.
He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in Veracruz, Mexico, where he loved and served the people of Mexico. He excelled in learning and speaking Spanish and carried a love for the language throughout his life. After his mission, Peter met and married Lexie Nielsen and they had two amazing children together. They later divorced.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from the University of Utah. He was blessed with a superior intellect, with the ability to learn and retain information and knowledge. He was fascinated with abstract topics and loved discussing them with anyone who would engage.
Peter had an incredible love for people and would strike up a genuine conversation with anyone, irrespective of their station in life. You would instantly feel like Pete’s best friend in his presence. He had the ability to make others feel important without judgement. Peter cared about every single living thing and was a very down-to-earth person. He was quick to see a need and did not hesitate to help. His concern for others was far-reaching. He was a loyal friend and would always have your back.
Peter loved life and was adventurous. Some of his favorite things to do were to hike, climb mountains, ski, waterski, and play golf. He genuinely loved being outdoors – whether you found him in the mountains, on the lake, or on the golf course. He loved music and played the piano beautifully. His family loved to hear him play and would often sing along. In addition to the piano, he was artistic and had recently taught himself how to paint. Of which he enjoyed giving his paintings as gifts to family members. Peter was exceptionally talented in every aspect of his life.
Peter’s greatest pride and joy in life are his two daughters, who he loved and cherished dearly. He would do absolutely anything to make them happy and was their biggest cheerleader.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerry Lake, Diane and Waldo Perkins. He is survived by his two daughters, Mia Lake and Callie Lake; parents Stephanie and Alan Lake; siblings Jessica (Shaun) Rosemann, Stephen (Vy) Lake, Dawson (Kandis) Lake; his beloved grandmother Marion Lake and many nieces and nephews, who adored him. Peter is now free from the chains of this earthly life and is currently in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday October 9th, 2025. A celebratory gathering will precede the service from 9:15- 10:30am at the Bountiful 50th Ward Chapel, 33 South Moss Hill Drive, Bountiful Utah. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
