Palmer-Peter T. LeBorgne Sr. may have "slipped the surly bonds of Earth," but his spirit and curiosity will remain with those who knew him forever. Pete, 79, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2024. He was born in Passaic, NJ, and raised in Clifton, NJ, the proud son of Jean Louis and Irene (Kravchak) LeBorgne, before serving his country in Vietnam and raising his family in Western Massachusetts. A longtime Palmer resident, he was a retired auto-mechanic who could be counted on to field many calls from his children about what that sound meant and would inconspicuously inspect their cars during visits. His hands earned his living, but his mind was ever-wandering. As a child, Pete had a ticket for the first civilian space trip and was a voracious reader. His imagination, love for astronomy, and what was beyond the stars left an indelible mark on two generations. Additionally, he was a master gardener, cultivating a welcome home with carefully manicured lawns and beautiful flower-hanging baskets. Poppy's heart was paved with paw prints, and his lifelong love of dogs proved that "no matter your circumstances in life, having a dog makes you rich." Peter is survived by his wife, Elaine (Jubinville) along with his three children, Anita Lee and her husband Kyle of Rocky Hill, CT, Peter LeBorgne, Jr. and Annemieke of California, and Matthew LeBorgne and his wife Dawn of Southwick, MA. He also leaves his sister in-laws, Pamela LeBorgne and Mary Ellen LeBorgne. His sister, Jackie, and two brothers, William and John, predeceased him. His legacy lives on in his 9 grandchildren, whom he thought were the greatest people on Earth. The family will be handling services at the MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in the future. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
