Peter J. McCarron, 88, of
Seabrook, NH passed away on January 4, 2026 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport.
Peter was born in
Amesbury, MA on November 2, 1937 to Paul and Jessie (Clay) McCarron and the family lived between Merrimac, Haverhill, and
Lynn, MA. He attended Lynn Classical High School until age 15. He then decided to hitchhike across the country to live with his uncle and aunt, and his older sister Betty in New Mexico and Texas. Peter had many adventures on that trip, and loved to relive the memories with family and friends. At age 17 he enlisted in the Air Force and served as a Jet Mechanic in the Far East during the Korean Conflict. When he returned to McChord Air Force Base in Washington state he met and married his first wife, Sharon Brown. They moved to New England and started their family of 3 sons and a daughter. As life changed, Peter took a different path and had another daughter. He continued on yet another path and met and married his "Jude". They made a family with her son and 2 more daughters. Peter was a collector of all items, with a passion for guns and coins. He owned an antique shop in Merrimac Square which took him on trips throughout the northeast, buying treasure. He was a contractor and a carpenter; he enjoyed deep sea fishing, golfing, spending time in
Deerfield, NH, and hunting up north as a younger man. He was also the manager at VFW Lorraine Post 29 in Haverhill.
He is survived by his wife of forty years Judith A. (Eldon) McCarron, his son Thomas P. McCarron of Bradford, his daughters Cathleen M. "Missy" Perron and her husband William of
Deerfield, NH, Patricia M. Willis and her husband Jim of Florida, Mary E. McCarron of
Bridgton, ME, and Anne M. McCarron of
Seabrook, NH. He also leaves behind his sister Marilyn J. Logan and her husband Bryan of
Washington, DC, his grandchildren Tim Gwaltney and his wife Laura of Texas, Rory McCarron of New York, Jordan McCarron of
Newton, NH, Brooke McCarron Kesner and her husband Curtis of
Farmington, NH, Jesse McCarron of
Newton, NH, Mickey Fisher and his wife Mary of
Plymouth, NH, USAF TSgt B. Clay Fisher and his wife Sylvia of Germany, Bronwyn Douglass of Brunswick, ME, Conner Douglass of
Bridgton, ME, Gabriel Nightingale of
Bridgton, ME, Isabelle Mortensen of
Seabrook, NH, and Timothy Bragg, Jr. of
Seabrook, NH, his great grandchildren Jake Gwaltney, Aurora and Boden Kesner, and Ella and Lucas Fisher, his mother and father-in-law Pat and Chuck Eldon of Oakland, ME, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his former wife Sharon (Brown) Felker, his sons Michael D. McCarron, William S. McCarron, his step son Brad J. Eldon; as well as his brother Charles P. McCarron, and his sisters Elizabeth M. Moore and Rose M. Sallies.
