Peter George Meisinger

Peter George Meisinger, of Crandon, WI passed away peacefully on July 30, 2024 with family by his side. He was 73 years old.
Pete was born in Milwaukee, WI on December 29, 1950 to the late George and Lolita (Lieske) Meisinger. He was a 1969 graduate of Goodrich Senior High in Fond du Lac, WI. On September 25, 1971 he married Penny (Marvin) Meisinger in Crandon, WI. They were blessed with three children.
Pete was a well read man with countless hobbies and endless projects. A lifelong lover of the outdoors, he took immense joy in boating, motorcycling, woodworking, and adventuring with Penny. His wood craftsmanship was admired by many, and his passion for water was evident in every boat he owned (there were many). Pete enjoyed his family and friends and took much pride taking them out on the water. Pete relished time spent cooking for as many people as he could find to feed. He was a hard-working, intelligent, and resourceful man who loved to learn and who lived life on his own terms until the very end.
Pete was an avid member of the original Crandon Ski Serpents water ski club back in the1960's. It was during his time with the team that he met Penny. He and Penny raised their family in Duluth, MN where Pete worked in food management. They moved back to Crandon in 2000 where Pete worked in several healthcare related fields. In his fifties, Pete went back to school to become a Registered Nurse. He worked at St. Mary's Rhinelander Hospital until retirement in 2022.
Pete is survived by his loving wife, Penny; his children, Heather (Geoff) Lohmiller, Ryan (Naomi Stromgren), and Crystal Meisinger; six grandsons: Luke, Cael, Tate, Brek, Levi, and Adrian; and his sisters, Pat (Jim) Becker, Jan (Alan) Erickson, and Joann (Wally) O'Connor, as well as countless nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Paul, Jim, and Phil; and his nephew, Justin.
