Peter A. Monchamp

STERLING - Peter A. Monchamp, 64, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at UMass Memorial Healthcare - Memorial Campus.
He leaves his wife of 33 years, Catherine M. Ryan; his son, Kevin J. Monchamp of Worcester; his daughters, Jenna L. Monchamp of Sterling and Karen A. Monchamp and her husband, Quinn Bazinet of Montreal, Canada; and his mother, Anne (Hart) Monchamp of Ware.

Pete was born in Holyoke, the son of the late Adrien J. Monchamp and had lived the past 23 years in Sterling. He was a technical writer and manager for MathWorks in Natick for over 20 years.

Pete was a devoted husband and loving father and spent his time pursuing various interests. He loved gardening, refining recipes to create a family cookbook, winemaking, telling family history stories and quoting Star Wars lines to his children. Most recently, he created numerous paintings for family members.

Funeral services are private at this time. At a later date, the family will hold a celebration of life celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 685 Canton Street, Suite 103, Norwood, MA 02062, or to the Compassionate Care ALS, PO Box 1052, West Falmouth, MA 02574. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling.
