Peter "Jerry" Morley ObituaryPeter Gerald "Jerry" Morley, 86, of Eatontown, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025.
He was born in Dorchester, MA and lived at Fort Bragg, NC and at Fort Monmouth, NJ before moving to Eatontown 30 years ago.
He enlisted in the US Army in 1956. He served during the Vietnam and Korean Wars. Jerry started out as an assistant medical supervisor making his way to Chief medical supervisor ultimately retiring as First Sergeant of the US Army Medical Department. During his 21 years in the US Army, he served in the 7th Special Forces Group retiring in 1977. While in service, he received the Third Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star medal for heroism in ground combat, the Purple Heart for wounds received in action in Vietnam in 1963 and again in 1965 and the Army Commendation Medal.
After retiring, he went on to work at the US Post Office in Eatontown as a letter carrier to clerk. He retired in 1997 after 23 years of service.
Surviving is his wife, Pamela; children, Michael, Eric, Renee, Peter and Lynze; brother, Charles; sister, Rita; and 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Micha, Trey and Lilly.
Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday at the Fiore-Buckley Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst, Ocean Township. Funeral service 10 am Saturday at the funeral home followed by Military Honors and entombment at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to a local DAV.
