Peter L. Moschello

Peter L. Moschello, age 82, of Lebanon, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2026, surrounded by family, at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater, NJ.

Peter was born on May 14, 1943, in Newark, NJ, to the late Lawrence and Genevieve (Cuomo) Moschello. He spent his childhood in Newark, NJ, and later moved to Cranford, Toms River, Belleville, and finally Lebanon. Since 2024, he has resided at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater, NJ.

His beloved wife, Michelle M. Vitiello Moschello, passed away in 2024 after 28 years of marriage.

Peter worked as a butcher for Pathmark Supermarket at various locations for 40 years.

Peter was a member of the police auxiliary in Cranford, NJ, years ago when he resided there. In addition, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Church in Annandale, NJ.

Peter is remembered for his kindness and for always smiling. He was a people person, always drawing in people with his warmth and complementing them. He loved antique cars and owned a few of his own over the years. He enjoyed going to car shows and hanging out at Dunkin' Donuts, and listening to records.

Peter is survived by his three loving children: Lisa Moschello of Highland Park, NJ; Lori VanValkenburgand her husband, Jimmy Jr., of Toms River, NJ; and Anthony Moschello and his wife, ToniAnn, of Manahawkin, NJ. His beloved grandchildren: Jimmy III VanValkenburg; Jake VanValkenburg; Benjamin Moschello-Beebe; Alexander Moschello-Beebe; and Natalie Moschello. His two step-children: Thomas W. Eccles and his wife, Carrie, of Lebanon, NJ, and Danette Dates and her husband, Jason, of Hewitt, NJ. His five step-grandchildren: Kathryn Eccles, Megan Eccles, Thomas Eccles III, Corporal Cameron Dates, and Mackenzie Dates. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Flora Possumato, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife Michelle, Peter is predeceased by his first wife, Delores Moschello, who passed away in 1981. He is also predeceased by his two brothers, Patrick and Albert.

Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 2pm to 3:30pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:30pm, all at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main St., Lebanon, NJ. Interment will be take place on Monday, March 9, 2026 at 12:30pm at Immaculate Conception Mausoleum in Annandale, NJ.

Memorials can be made in Peter's name to a charity of one's choice.
