Peter Charles Nearman, born on February 19, 1967, in Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2024, in Glendale, Arizona surrounded by family. Peter was 57 years young. He was the beloved son of Tom and Nan Nearman.
Peter, Dad, Uncle Pete, Pops, or Peter Pops as he was affectionately known, was a shining light and steady foundation for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His journey on this earth was one marked by an adventurous nature, creative insightful mind, sense of humor, tremendous kindness, acceptance of people as they are, great love for family and friends, and a deep faith in God. Even his stubbornness will be missed. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him for the way he lived his life and the profound impact he had on the lives of those around him.
Peter is survived by his loving mother Nan Nearman, his wife Julie Pascente, and his sister Bridget Monteith (husband Monty). Peter also leaves behind his four children: Eric (wife Alyssa), Lexi, Carston, and Gavin Nearman, along with two very dear nephews, Tyler and Grant Huggins. Peter's family was large and full of love, with loss also felt by his three stepchildren Nick (wife Ryan), Danielle (husband Matt Hall), and Allyssa Pascente, along with his eight beautiful grandchildren ranging from 5 months to 15 years of age. Outside of his direct family members, Peter was the center of a family formed by community. His memory will continue through the countless nurses, neighbors, friends, CCV church members, and Lifestyles Unlimited members who he loved dearly.
Peter moved to Arizona with his family at a young age and, although rebellious and fiercely independent, graduated from Brophy College Preparatory with academic excellence. He embarked on careers within restaurants, working his way up to executive chef and general manager, before deciding to return to school. Peter then dedicated his time as a nurse in the cardiovascular intensive care unit, level one trauma unit in the ICU, cardiac cath lab, and more. Peter's passion for helping others didn't waver even after an ocean-related injury in 2006, which resulted in a spinal cord injury at C5-6 and quadriplegia paralysis. Peter continued to learn and grow as an investor working alongside Lifestyles Unlimited to invest in single and multi-family homes.
Outside of his work, Peter was passionate about bodybuilding, fitness, music, learning, fixing things, and traveling. His biggest passion, however, was his children. The best perk about his injury, he would often say, was that he was able to be more involved with his kids; he never missed a school event, sporting event, or field trip. Those who knew Peter will remember him for his infectious smile, quick wit, adventurous spirit, and his unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone he encountered. Peter's character, which shined immeasurably, made a lasting impact on all who crossed his path and left an admirable legacy that will be carried on by all who knew him.
The Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Peter Charles Nearman (or the "Peter Party" as his family refers to it) will be held on February 15th, 2025 at a location forthcoming. Please check back for details here.
In lieu of flowers, given the nature of Peter's sudden passing, the family kindly requests donations to help support the family during this difficult time. All donations can be made to the Nearman Fund via GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/nearmanfund
