Peter J. "Pete" Perrego

Peter "Pete" J. Perrego of Dover, DE passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old.

He was born in Newburgh, NY on January 14, 1948, to parents Florence (Serviss) Perrego and Carmine Perrego.

Pete joined the USAF in June 1966 and retired after 20 years of service as MSgt. During his Air Force career, he had traveled to Canada, Germany, Greece and Turkey. After retiring from the Military, he worked for the State of Delaware, ending his career with the Division of Health and Social Services (Adult Protective Services) as a Case Manager Supervisor, retiring after 22 years.

Pete enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. He had the pleasure of driving on the racetrack at Dover International Speedway with his son Joey by his side. Pete enjoyed spending time with his wife taking the scenic routes to Lancaster, PA. To pass the time while not out and about he watched shows such as MASH and NCIS. In his younger years, he loved officiating flag football at DAFB.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Donna Perrego, they would have celebrated 40 years of marriage on November 30th. He is also survived by his sons, David Perrego (Kristen) of Dover, DE., Jason Perrego (Angela) of Helena, MT., and Joseph Perrego (Taylor) of Hartly, DE. Brothers, Robert Perrego, James Perrego and Gary Perrego, and five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents Florence (Serviss) Perrego and Carmine Perrego, his siblings, Anthony Perrego, Michael Perrego, Thomas Perrego, Carma Perrego Ryan, Phyllis Perrego Goggin, Paula Perrego Mueller and Rose Marie Perrego Scott.

The funeral service will be held on 11:00am, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E Lebanon Rd, Dover, DE. The viewing will begin at 10am. The burial will follow at Denton Cemetery, Denton, MD.
