PETER BRICE REINTJES, age 78, of Waterville, died on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Pete was born on April 25, 1947, in Mankato to Arthur and Alice (White) Reintjes. His education began at All Saints Catholic School in Madison Lake before graduating from Loyola High School with the class of 1965. Pete continued his education at South Central Community College in Faribault where he studied Auto Mechanics. On August 20, 1983, Pete was united in marriage to Patricia Hogan at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. Together they made their home in Waterville where they raised their son, Rob.
Pete began his working at Kato Engineering for a short time before beginning a 30 year career with the United States Postal Service in Mankato, retiring in 2007. He was a long-time member of St. Canice Catholic Church in Kilkenny and most recently at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, taking road trips and spending time with his cats. He was an avid fisherman and road motorcycle in his younger years. Pete was a big Minnesota sports fan, especially following the Timberwolves and Gophers. Pete cherished spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a supportive and kind man who was thoughtful of others in his daily life. Blessed be his memory.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Patricia; son, Rob Reintjes (Bolanle Santos) of Burnsville; brother, John Reintjes of Elysian; sister-in-law, Mary Hogan of Mankato; brothers-in-law: Michael Hogan of Kilkenny, Dennis (Nada) Hogan of Farmington, and Steven Clarke of Apple Valley; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jeremiah and Leora (Healey) Hogan; sisters-in-law: Helen Clarke and Maureen Hogan; brother-in-law, John Hogan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake with Fr. Robert Schneider as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Ann Catholic Cemetery in Janesville. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
