Peter J Rice

Peter J. Rice, 81, of Toms River, died Saturday, December 28, 2024 at home with his family. Born in Elizabeth, Peter resided in Howell, NJ for 44 years before moving to Toms River in 2016. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 to 1966. He worked for ExxonMobil for over 36 years, retiring in 2002. Peter loved spending time with his family and friends and liked vacationing, especially cruising. He was active in the Lake Ridge community, playing cards, bocce and shuffleboard. Peter was an avid Rutgers and Giants fan. Peter is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; 3 sons, Peter & wife Christa, Scott & wife Mary and Greg & wife Melissa, siblings James Rice & Raymond Rice and 6 grandchildren, Peter, Andrew, Nicole, Amanda, Eric and Emily. Visitation is Friday 4-8 PM at Oliverie Funeral Home, 2925 Ridgeway Rd, Manchester. Funeral Liturgy is Saturday 9 AM at St Luke's Church, Toms River with honor guard to follow.
