Peter W. Schaack

Peter W. Schaack, 77, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Upstate University Hospital. Peter was born in Barmstedt-Holstein, Germany, immigrated to the United States in 1955 at the age of 5 years old. He was the son of Harry and Kate Schaack. Peter was a graduate of SUNY Morrisville College. He worked as a manager for Rotary Gas Station, Hess Gas Station, and worked in the warehouse for Colony Liquors Distributors. He was a member of the German American Society, Arion Stein Club, Bavarian Club Almanrausch, New York State Masons, Elks, Moose Clubs, New York State Teamsters Local 317, and a life member of the NRA. Peter enjoyed bowling, playing poker and going to the casino, eating, and spending time with grandkids.
He is predeceased by his parents, Harry and Kate Schaack.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Nancy (Washburn) Schaack, sons, Peter (Lisa) and Kelley Schaack, daughter, Kristy (Jake) Ashby, grandkids, Holden, Elika, Edwin, and Katarina.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home, Inc., 300 Second Street, Liverpool, NY 13088. A Masonic Service will be held at 2:00 pm followed by a tribute to Peter's Life by family members.
