Peter Calhoun Sorace

Peter Calhoun Sorace, age 75, passed away May 17, 2023 at his home in South Russell surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1947 to the late Nancy Narten and Kenneth Sorace, he was the brother of Nancy Machamer and Christine Gruendeman, and the brother-in-law of Christine and Cynthia Porter.
Beloved husband of Deborah Sorace and survived by his two children, Megan Sorace Beverly (Mark), David Sorace (Grace) and two step-children, Andrew R. Naylor (Katherine), Caitlin E. Naylor; four grandchildren, Maryn, Mark John, Evelyn, and Paige; dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Peter grew up in Shaker Heights, attended Lakemont Academy and John Carroll University where he met his late wife, Charise Andonian Sorace, mother of Megan and David. He worked as a parts manager for Wick Pontiac and later as a sales representative for Caterpillar Lift Trucks in Mentor, Ohio.
After marrying Deborah in 1998, they lived in South Russell for 25 years. Many of those early years were spent pursuing his life-long passion with automobiles. Spending time with Sports Car Club of America, an amateur racing club, created great joy in his life. He will be remembered for his love of family, cooking and car racing.
Funeral Services Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The United Methodist Church of Chagrin Falls, 20 S. Franklin Street. Interment private, South Russell Cemetery.
