Peter Star

Panagiotis Peter Vlastaras Star, 84, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at the Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. He was born Feb. 8, 1940 in Logga, Messinia, Greece and has lived in the United States for the past 57 years. He was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and was also a Greek Merchant Marine Veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Despina Vlastaras Star and 4 children, Jackie Star, JoAnn Star (John) Howell, Dina Star and Dean (Becky) Star; 3 grandchildren, Oscar, Tony and Grace.
He was preceded by his parents, Kostus & Zaharoula Vlaslaras.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am followed by his funeral service at 11:00 am Monday, Aug. 5, 2024 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 1400 N. O'Plaine Road, Libertyville, IL. Interment will follow at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL.
